What are Collagen Peptides?

Collagen Peptides are 100% hydrolyzed gelatin. There are no fillers, additives, MSG, GMOS or artificial ingredients. This is simply collagen that has gone through an additional enzyme process called hydrolysis. This process breaks down the protein chains that are naturally occurring into smaller pieces, creating a hot or cold water soluble collagen powder supplement that is easy for the body to digest and absorb.

Amino Acids and Collagen

The collagen molecule is made up of amino acids joined together to form long, molecular chains. There are 18 different amino acids in collagen, each occurring at its own level and sequence in the molecule. Collagen is an excellent dietary source of the primary amino acids that make up the protein molecule:

  • Glycine
  • Proline
  • Hydroxyproline
  • Lysine
  • Hydroxylysine

As a concentrated source of these amino acids, collagen nourished the tissues throughout the body, such as cartilage, bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles, vital organs, skin, hair and nails.

Collagen Shelf Life

If collagen is stored in a tightly sealed poly-lined container in normal indoor conditions, it will remain stable indefinitely. The only exception is if the collagen is kept in a heat above (45°C) 113°F with relative humidity above 60%. In this extreme scenario, the collagen will gradually lose its ability to swell and dissolve.

*The Amino Acid content is represented as averages of multiple test results.

Is your Hydrolyzed Gelatin | Beef Collagen Peptides dietary supplement made from grass-fed cattle?

We are aware of some gelatin companies claiming that their gelatin comes from grass-fed cattle. However, they will never be able to certify that. The raw materials for this specific product are sourced from the same places; Brazil, Colombia and Argentina. We do sell hundreds of gelatin products that are sourced from other countries, but we are very selective in the material that is used for our dietary supplements. There is no governing body in South America that will certify beef as grass-fed because there may be occasional pieces of corn, grain, etc. that the cattle consume while grazing. We have visited and inspected the facilities from which our raw materials are sourced. We know that they are pasture raised, which is the standard for South America. Grass is the cheapest and more plentiful feed available. If you are currently purchasing beef gelatin or collagen from another company who is claiming that their product is made from 100% grass-fed cattle, we strongly recommend asking for something in writing that will certify the claim.
